8 weeks

Dutch is NOT happy with his bath
The pups started to leave for new homes this week. I was sad to see them go but it is wonderful to see them make their new families so happy. I will do one more weekly update and will add occasional posts as the pups grow.

7 week update

Chili catches some shut eye while she can
I can't believe there are only a few days left until the pups go to new homes!! It has been a busy week, with many visitors. It has been a fun week, with the pups being at the best age for fun and games. It has been a worrying week, with one of the pups suffering both a leg injury and a growth issue, but he is doing well and hopefully on the road to recovery. The pups finally have names and will soon be heading out to new families in several different states. This litter has been a joy to raise and I will enjoy these last few days with them.
Mr. Yellow is now Moonsong Fierce Allegience
He has a great face
Mr. Green, now Moonsong Dutch Harbor, munches on Miss Silver, now Moonsong Early Dawn, while she munches on Miss Blue's leg.
Wrestlemania
Mr. Purple, now Moonsong Northwestern, wrestles with Silver
Puppies napping at work- car troubles kept me from bringing them as often as my past litters but they did enjoy time socializing at the Academy.
Break time at work- I don't smoke so I take puppy potty breaks instead of smoke breaks
Mr. Green checks out the vacuum
The best toys are free! A sour cream container gives hours of fun
I don't know how Miss Blue can be comfortable having her face smooshed but napped for quite a while in this position
Sleeping pups are so cute! Miss Purple resists joining her littermates in slumber
Stealing a slurp while Chili is distracted
Poor Chili always has to share attention
Mr. Red, now Moonsong Time Bandit, leads Green on a merry chase
Miss Pink, now Moonsong Farwest Leader, has a great smile
Miss Pink
Mr. Purple enjoys a soup bone
Mr. Purple
Kila Beans gets a kiss from Miss Purple, now Moonsong Wizard
Red and Miss B&T, now Moonsong Sea Rover, take their turn smooching Beans
Jiggles is oblivious to the commotion on the floor
Green and Mr. Purple enjoy some male bonding
Green enjoys a soup bone- the pups had them for the first time this week
Green shows off his wraps ( we call them leg warmers around the house). He is growing so fast that his tendons and ligaments in his front legs are having a hard time keeping up with the bone growth. He was switched to a lower calorie food to slow his growth and needs legs wraps for a couple weeks. It almost always corrects itself quickly with these precautions. After only two days on the wraps, one of his legs is fine and is no longer wrapped, but the other is coming along more slowly, especially after he injured that leg while trying to scale his xpen. Green was going to stay with me for a couple extra months anyway as he is joining my parents in New York...after housetraining and basic obedience is done. The benefits of having a daughter that is a dog trainer!
Faethe entices puppies to play
I like pups that can amuse themselves

Week 6

This was a very busy week so I do not have many individual photos. The puppies were able to go out this week and play. It was quite cold and snowy but at least it wasn't pouring rain! I am finally starting to match puppies to owners and at the end of this week, the pups will be assigned names also. It is going to be hard to let this litter go- they are such nice pups and there are a few I would really like to keep but I know they will bring a lot of joy to their new families.
