Expecting

Chili and Tay are expecting! The breeding was a success. Chili is getting huge! She has not had an easy time with this pregnancy though- she has been bleeding and passing a heavy discharge, possibly losing some puppies:-( She has also been drinking a lot of water, making the vet suspect pyometria ( a potentially deadly uterine infection) but a visit to a specialist with an untrasound ruled out pyo and she has bounced back the final couple weeks and all seems to be well. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a large litter of healthy pups.

Tay's job is done- he had the easy part!
Chili, on the other hand, is looking quite miserable resting with her huge belly

Chili is usually very lithe and athletic so she is pretty disgusted with her limited mobility but she loves having puppy and looks content in this picture, resting under a table at work.

Sire and Dam

I had actually planned on using another stud for Chili's second litter but I wanted more Tay puppies before he was neutered and the more I thought of the match, the better it seemed. Tay is the sire of Chili's first 'husband' and that match produced nice sled dogs as well as valued family members. Tay only has one intact son and one intact daughter from two previous litters, so I am eager to get some more progeny to carry on for him. I am excited to see what this match will produce and can't wait to see the pups!!

Tay has a great smile...

...and is very handsome

Chili may be a great sled dog but she also knows how to relax
